About the Alpha

In addition to 33 years of practicing general dentistry, Dr. Gottschalk has also been clinical faculty at the USC School of Dentistry.  He has written journal articles, lectured nationally on anesthesia, and contributed chapters to anesthesia textbooks.
Dr. Gottschalk teaches as well as practices. You will be learning from a mentor who has trained over 200 doctors and staff since 2010. He feels that is much better to learn from experience rather than theory.

Who should take this course?

Anybody doing moderate sedation will be exposed to procedures that they may never utilize in their practice of sedation, but by doing them, you will be so confident in administering sedation that your comfort level will be elevated because you will truly understand the the full spectrum of anesthesia. Virtually every technological profession requires continuing education to advance skills and maintain proficiency. The courses at Alpha Anesthesia Seminars are designed to do just that. Even practicing anesthesiologists need to be exposed to, and educated in the latest equipment, delivery systems, and medications. We will place doctors of all levels of training in a comfortable learning environment to elevate their level of care.

Advanced Anesthesia Training

Our programs are specifically beneficial for both oral surgeons and general practitioners who provide IV sedation.  However, many periodontists and endodontists have also benefited from these courses.

The goal for us is to give you the BEST anesthesia training you have ever had and send you back to your office with a confidence level that you did not even know existed.  That is why we are called Alpha Anesthesia because we want you to be the top anesthesia provider in your market.  Do not just take our word for it; listen to these guys who already took our course.

Anesthesia Training For Your Dental Staff

Your assistants can make a difference in almost every case because they will see changes in the monitor before you will! Conversely, they can also really mess things up if they don’t know what they are doing.

It is so important that when providing advanced anesthesia to your patients that you work with your the team to provide the best results. Call us today and find out more about our advanced programs (818) 208-0649 or register for a course online!

Already Have Enough Anesthesia Training?

Do you feel like you have sedation under control?  Are you ready for any incident that could potentially happen in your office?

There are a lot of doctors that we have trained here at Alpha Anesthesia that felt like they already had it down and some of them really did know their stuff. However, more times than not, we find that doctors providing sedation in their offices do not have a good understanding of managing an airway and are actually putting most of their patients at risk!

If you think you have what it takes, click here for a pop quiz, and find out if you have what it takes to be the alpha.

3 Things We Know We Can Help You Improve On

Dr. Stan Malamed

I am a dentist anesthesiologist who has had the good fortune to be able to work alongside Dr. Bill Gottschalk for more than 25 years teaching intravenous moderate sedation courses. I have seen Bill working in both the clinical and didactic environments during these intensive programs and I will say in all honesty that Dr. Gottschalk is a master at what he does. If you have an opportunity to enroll in one of his advanced IV sedation programs, I would encourage you to do so. The clinical experience alone is invaluable.

If you are interested in a truly challenging, “eye opening”, opportunity to learn from exceptional Doctors sharing a variety of advanced anesthesia techniques, this course is for you! It changed the manner in which I practice IV sedation in my office.  The knowledge and experience gained is by far an exceptional value and exceeded my expectations!

John Vondrell, M.D.

I am a physician anesthesiologist and member of the ASA and ADSA. I wish to compliment you on your excellent Intro to Capnography video. I consider it one of the best of its kind in explaining the value of ETCO2 measurements in sedated patients.

Albert Einstein once said, “the sign of a true genius is the ability to make the complex simple.” That is what Bill did for me. He takes the complex and allows you to use that information first thing on Monday morning. Right from the start, he makes it apparent that you don’t know what you don’t know, but he gives you and your staff the confidence to rise above the rest.

Adam Jensen, DMD

The hands on advanced sedation training with Dr. Gottschalk was well worth it. It gave me a greater understanding of the range of effects of the drugs we use every day, and the confidence to successfully use the ones we hopefully never have to. We go way past moderate sedation into full GA with him, so we are more able recognize if we were to go past moderate on our own, and how to manage it if we do. I learned things from simple techniques to smooth out sedations with less drugs, to painless IV placement. I really valued the one on one, hands on approach. And the fact that we could see our own patients in our own office, with our own equipment was invaluable. I recommend this course to anyone that offers IV sedation in their practice.

If you are looking for a comprehensive approach to dental anesthesia, this is the course to take! Dr. Bill Gottschalk’s combination of didactic and hands-on approach truly allows the sedation dentist to further advance their skills through real-time experience. The training I received has definitely changed the nature in which I practice IV sedation. I highly recommend this course.
